With a great success has ended RICYT’s VI Workshop on Science and Technology
Indicators – Ibero- and Inter-American- hold in Buenos Aires, September
15th, 16th and 17th. About 300 participants took part in the meeting, including
representatives from the entire region, as well as experts from international
institutions such as OAS, OECD and UNESCO.
The Workshop included 80 presentations, which will be available soon
in this page. Among the conclusions, the participants recommended to give support
and continuity to RICYT’s activities, as a means to consolidate a regional system
for scientific and technologic information.

Workshop Objectives:
General:
To link indicators production and analyzing processes with wider objectives
and frameworks related to Ibero-American social transformation.
Specific:
• To discuss the main challenges involved by the use of information provided
by indicators, for policy analyzing and policy making, as well as for public
debate on science and technology.
• To analyze potential uses of science, technology and innovation indicators
in order to improve political and social analysis of Ibero-American countries
situation.
• To update the agenda for the discussion about traditional indicators
and the new science, technology and innovation indicators.
• To exchange national and regional experiences among different actors
linked to indicators production, analysis and use in science and technology.
